The Union Minister Mr Oscar Fernandes assured the Chief Minister Mr Digambar Kamat of a new Medical College for Goa while urging the CM to make land available for the purpose.
Asserting that in the UPA regime, the ESI, is opening up medical colleges across the country he said that one such college could come up in Goa provided land was made available for the same.
The Minister was speaking at a function while laying the foundation stone for the modernisation and upgradation of the ESI hospital at Margao.
The Chief Minister responded to the proposal with a welcome and assured to identify suitable land for the purpose and expressed the need for another college in Goa due to the growing needs of the people of Goa
