Swine Flu -Do's and Don'ts

The Epidemiological cell, directorate of health services, Campal Panaji Goa has ben releasing the following through advertisements in Goa for the benefit of the Public.

Some cases of swine flu have been reported from Mexico, USA, UK, Canada, Spain, France and new Zealand. Swine Flu is an illness manifesting with respiratory symptoms like cough, sore throat, running nose along with fever. the virus which causes swine flu is normally present among pigs. However it is found to have caused disease among human beings. the cases were found to be mild in USA but there have been some deaths reported in Mexico

Some Dos and Don'ts

1) If you have visited  Mexico, USA, UK, Canada, Spain, New Zealand or France and if you are suffering from high fever, cough, sore throat or running nose, please contact the nearest health centre for advise.

2) Wash your hands regularly with soap and water

3) Cover your nose and mouth with cloth while coughing and sneezing

4) Avoid close contact with sick persons
