Benaulim beach is located in the immediate neighbourhood of the picturesque Colva beach in south Goa and is around 6 km from the city of Margao.
HOW TO REACH TO BENAULIM BEACH IN GOA
If you have decided to fly down to Goa , then the only airport in Goa is at Dabolim. Benaulim beach is located at a distance of around 33 kms from Dabolim.
If you happen to travel from the capital city of Panjim, Benaulim is at a distance of around 42 kms from Panjim city.
The nearest railway station to Benaulim is at Margao , also known as the "MADGAON railway station" which is hardly 7 kms away.
The local bus service from Benaulim is quite a frequent affair. Also if you happen to be at the neighbouring beach, Colva, you must know that Benaulim is less than 2 kms away and there are plenty of buses plying from Colva to Benaulim.
Also , there are other services of transport to Benaulim from Margao such as a taxi, a motorcycle pilot or a rickshaw from the Margao Kadamba bus stand.

TOURIST ATTRACTIONS IN BENAULIM
Benaulim used to be known for Bull -fights in the olden days. however nowadays these Bull-fights are banned and there are presently no bull fights staged in Benaulim whatsoever. Only rumours about bull fights are doing the rounds .
Benaulim is blessed with a beautiful Church known as the Church of St John the Baptist. The Church is situated on a hill beyond the village and is worth a visit. On the arrival of the monsoon, the traditional feast of St John the Baptist is celebrated here with plenty of enthusiasm and fervour.
The feast, popularly known as "SAO JOAO FEST" is celebrated as a thanksgiving day. On this day it is a common sight to see young and old wearing crowns of leaves and fruits touring the village to the accompaniment of the drums and songs, especially the Goan Mandos, urging everyone to participate in the celebrations.
The villagers than gather around various wells or ponds in the village and jump or dive in the waters of the wells or ponds while Mandos are being sung in the background with the chant of " Viva Sao Joao" resonating vibrantly on everybody's lips.
