Goa govt to make healthcare chargeable for non-residents

The government of Goa in a bid to lessen the financial burden of the state is planning to charge fees for people who arrive in the state for availing treatment in government hospitals in Goa.

This is apparently for people who come specially in the state to take the benefit of health care without being residents of Goa.

The decision however seems to be subject to a Supreme Court order which the government is planning to study before taking a final decision on the matter.
